Challenge

BLVD is a Chicago West Loop steakhouse, nodding back to the roaring 20's and old Hollywood ritz and glam. With it's beautiful interior space, designed by Studio K Chicago, they deliver a fun and decadent night of dining for a weekend dine out, as well as serve as a venue for private events.

The goal was to extend the restaurant’s established brand into digital marketing and create a website that captured the ambiance and drama of the interior. The site needed to handle table and event bookings while giving staff the ability to update images and menus. It also had to reflect the luxury of the space while appealing to customers.

Approach

Translating the brand digitally

We started by translating the 20’s-30’s Hollywood design language of the restaurant into digital UI elements. Every detail, from typography to color to layout, was designed to evoke the drama and luxury of the space.

Capturing the experience

We collaborated with stakeholders and external partners to capture imagery that reflected the brand, mood, and dining experience. High-performing luxury restaurants, both in Las Vegas and globally, were used as references to inform design strategy and user experience.

Building for usability

We set up the CMS so staff could easily update menus and images. At the same time, we mapped and designed the booking flows to make reserving tables and events simple and intuitive, while keeping the site aligned with the restaurant’s luxury brand.

The outcome

The website successfully brought the restaurant’s brand online, creating an immersive digital experience that reflected the luxury and drama of the space. Guests were guided seamlessly through table and event bookings, while staff gained a simple and easy way to manage menus and images.
